SUSPENSION
is a software by Soft-Engine for
cinematic and static computation of rear suspensions
for motorcycles of the following types:
traditional
fixed-arm shock absorber (single or double)
pro-link
and its subsequent products
The
program runs on Windows, data
are entered through drawings. Drawings represent the suspension geometry
to be analysed. Suspension measurements can be entered directly onto the drawing. The program can build the layout
in proportional scale and allows you to perform animations. You can
add various kinds of springs, with different rates. There is a
directory for layout, spring, and for layout assembly + spring. The values
calculated by this program as a function of the travel wheel are as
follows:
Graphic comparisons up to
5 different solutions available. There are charts, printing utilities, and
a guide. The main advantage you can get from this program is the
possibility of knowing and comparing
the spring deflection behaviour to the travel wheel. The most
clear-cut value obtained by the program is the progressive-rate of
deflection. The last one supplies the suspension progressive-rate (or
regressive-rate) compared to linear
fixed-arm suspension.

Compared to
version 1.0 you can calculate compression progressive-rate due to
the compound lever and the one due to the load (compound lever + spring +
bumper) either separately or together. In addition, the graphic interface
is better defined.

1-Download
the ZIP file in a temporary folder. Follow the procedure (choose
"Save on hard disk" option) and ignore the web protection
message;
2-After
download, start SUSP.ZIP to begin unzip procedure; use WINZIP
program;
3-At
the end, start SETUP.EXE to install demo;
4-Start
SUSPEN.EXE to begin demo.
