DYNAMOMETER ACCESSORIES

    

     


All SOFT-ENGINE dynamometer's accessories have a pratical utilisation for tuners,  like the electric devices (carburation data acquisition by lambda sensor, rpm direct acquisition, temperatures acquisition), the computer versions and the complete cooling - gas evacuation system. There are also some mechanical improvements like the automatic front wheel locking system (motorcycle dyno).

 

ALL dynamometer's accessories , also the eddy current brake, can be added in a second time after payement, up-grading the basic dynamometer, because its mechanical structure is suitable to add all the parts.

 

A classic example is the eddy current brake up-grading in a basic car dynamomter. You have only to substitute the big flywheel (the one in the brake box) with the eddy current brake and upgrade the software. The same thing you can do with our motorcycle and engine dynamometer. These simple operations are always possible with our dynos!

 

As regards to electronic devices, we'd like suggest to all tuners the use of carburation data acquisition system by lambda sensor. The software dysplaies the Lambda sensor voltage quantity in mV unit, with markers about high, normal and low carburation level. A new system, the Wideband lambda data store, is able to measure directly the air-fuel ratio: this is a very hi-technology device. More, the new system Twin lambda's is necessary to acquire the twin-cylinder's engine carburation data: there are two indipendent channels for wideband lambda acquisition. The diagram compares the two lambda curves (one for each cylinder).

Module to program motorbike control units during a dynamometer test, for motorcycles with RAPID-BIKE device.

The control unit programming is:

·          At design time: after a test (inertial also) the lambda diagram can be redrawn, and software correct the mapping chart automatically. After the corrected injection mapping chart is sent to control unit, is possible to repat the test to check the variation;

·          At real time: during a braked dynamometer test it is possible to correct the map advance and injection to improve Horsepower, Torque and lambda (at mapping rpm ponts). It is possible also to input the wished lambda values and to observe the advance and injection correction at real time.

Very convenient accessory, it's used for manage the dynamometer from vehicle. Available in two versions:

  • To manage only the software

  • To manage software and fan - exhaust evacuation systems

For braked dynamometers, it's possible to variate the rpm step with the buttons: "+" e "-".

  

  

 

 

 


ELECTRONIC DEVICES FOR STANDARD ELECTRONIC

RPM DIRECT ACQUISITION FROM IGNITION

  

(All dynamometers categories)

Use this accessory when you like to have directly the RPM data from engine, "catching"the electric signal from spark-plug. It's used to know engine rpm without the gear transmission ratio datum inputting. Software displaies a quantity called "Instantaneous transmission ratio", used by scooter tuners. This diagram is used to find particular transmission lacks: usually, "instantaneous transmission ratio" diagram is a constant. When the pneumatic or the clutch slippes, this diagram has an irregular evolution. In this case the measured horse-power is less than the effective ones, because vehicle pneumatic or transmission slippes. 

The most important use of this sensor is for scooter tuners. Infact there is a special test that studies the variator behaviour.

  

 

TEMPERATURES ACQUISITION

Exhaust gas temperature diagram is displayed by the software; this quantity is used to study the carburation system. 

Engine water temperature and under spark-plug temperature are available too but doesn't interface with computer; numerical data are displayed.

The temperature sensors can be added (from 1 to 4 different channels) to the "automatic meteo device" (see the picture). 

 

  

  

 

CARBURATION DATA ACQUISITION BY LAMBDA DEVICE

Insert the lambda sensor in the suitable vehicle's connector and run test: while data acquisition, the instantaneous lambda voltage level appears on the screen and a diagram is displayed at the end of test. There are markers of high - normal - low carburation level.

Two models:

Narrow-band lambda device: output in mV;

Wideband A/F lambda device: the result is the air-fuel ratio.

It's possible to connect also the throttle device.

"TWIN LAMBDA'S" ACQUISITION SYSTEM

(Motorcycle and engine dinos)

  Twin lambda's: twin cylinder engine (wideband) lambda acquisition, both cylinders lambda device are displayed togheter on the screen. The conresponding diagram compares the lambda ratio (or air/fuel ratio) of the first  cylinder with the second one, for twin cylinders engine.

The device can be used also to measure the throttle percentage (see the lower picture, in which the throttle is the sensor on the left, and the other two sensors are the lambdas). The software version that can manage this device is Braker (Inertial) 5.0.

 

   

THROTTLE ACQUISITION DEVICE

By this device, the throttle percentage data measurement is possible during the test. A display shows the percentage of throttle opening while the dynamometer store the data, so the user can control the gas.

For example, this control is necessary when a mapping test (braked dynamometer) is running, because the mapping chart must be realized at total gas (trottle = 100%) but also at partial gas (throttle= 25%, 50%, 75% or free).

The throttle sensor can be connected to the same electronic device for "Lambda" or "Twin lambda's" accessories, by the suitable connection. The software version that can manage this device is Braker (Inertial) 5.0 and the Throttle purchase is binded with a Lambda system.

AUTOMATIC METEO DEVICE

Meteo device for automatic Pressure, Temperature and Humidity acquisition by environment. Data are acquired and communicate to software in real-time by USB port to make the Horse-power and Torque correction. Automatic meteo device can be activated or de-activated by software.

 

It’s possible to add until 4 different temperatures, sensor “K”, and pressure sensors, to send all these data by USB port.

DEVICES COMMAND CONSOLE

This console is used to manage these devices:

  • Automatic mouvement of front wheel clamp (motorcycle dyno);

  • Fan and gas evacuation systems control;

  • Motorcycle dynamometer's electric starter device;

  • Rpm direct acquisition system included;

  • Exhaust gas temperature display;

  • Carburation data (lambda device) display;

  • roller brake button;

  • Test run button.

Obviously, this console is suitable in all dynamometers version with very high number of devices.

For engine dynamometers there is a similar console.

Data store USB electronic allows to connect PC to dynamometer by USB port, so it’s possible to use also notebooks for data acquisition by dyno.

It’s possible to add sensors and devices on demande.

EDDY CURRENT BRAKE

  

 

(For inertial dynos "Inertial")

Eddy current brake up-grades the accelerative dynamometers (Inertial models) for motorcycles, cars and engine. It allows additional tests kind, like:

  • Constant regime - speed braking (for mappings)

  • Constant load braking

  • Variable load braking

  • Running-in

  • "Inertial and Braker" test

So it's possible to test the vehicle when engine is "loaded", simulate road condition giving an appropriate load, or make the inlet mapping.

All accelerative dynamometers are suitable for setting-up the eddy current brake. The brake is standard in the braked dynamometers ("Braker" dynamometers); ALL BRAKED DYNAMOMETERS ALLOWS ALSO THE ACCELERATIVE TEST: SELECT THE RIGHT SOFTWARE'S OPTION

  

  

 

 

 


FAN - EXHAUST GAS EVACUATION SYSTEMS

FAN SYSTEMS

Soft-Engine gives some possibilities for fan system:

  • Centrifugal hi-pressure fan S-E 402 to cool engine. It is an hi-pressure fan. The air speed is about 180 Km/h, so it's suitable for airbox too.

  • Axial fan S-E 560, included in accelerative car dynamometer "Inertial 350 car 2x2". Its pressure is 8.000 m3/h.

  • Centrifugal hi-pressure fan S-E 86, double speed (8.000 / 12.000 m3/h), suitable for braked car dynamometers or for airbox too.

  • Centrifugal hi-pressure fan S-E 130, double speed (15.000 / 22.000 m3/h), suitable for hard testing.

  • Exhaust gas evacuation fan system S-E 351, for kart dynamometes and for exhaust gas evacuation.

  • Inlet / Outlet joints for fan systems are given on demand.

NB: SPECIFY THE CORRECT VOLTAGE OF FAN ENGINE.

 

"AIR BOX ONE" FAN SYSTEM

 

SOFT-ENGINE presents to you its new "Air box one" fan system. This device has a variable speed, the same of vehicle' speed over the roller, until 300 Km/h, and so it is possible to simulate the truthful road aereo-dynamics friction conditions. There are two versions:

  • Model A: electric max. consumption: 7.5 KW

  • Model B: electric max. consumption: 10 KW

This system was tested in Soft-Engine company, also thank to TEAM BEVILACQUA collaboration.

"AIR BOX GP ONE" FAN SYSTEM

 

MODEL GP: this fan variable-air speed system needs an electric motor max consumption: 15 KW This system is extremely professional: the max air speed is 350 Km/h! The system manages also the airbox overpressure. Tubes and joints are included, to send air directly into airbox.

SPECIAL MECHANICAL PARTS

BEAM PLATFORM FOR EXTERNAL CAR DYNAMOMETERS

Usually the car dynamometer is on the floor. For external car dynamometers there are platforms, Length: 2,000 mm.

 

CAR DYNAMOMETER 4WD'S INTEGRAL TRACTION

(Car dynos)

This option is made by a big joint that connects the front rollers with the rear ones in a 4WD CAR DYNAMOMETER. By this option, the rear rollers moves with the same speed of the front ones. Very professional kit!

 

COMPUTER CUPBOARD

 

(All dynamometers categories)

    

Comfortable optional, it's used to accomodate the computer, the printer and the screen. It's varnished with the same dynamometer colour (usually red).

 

MOTORCYCLES DYNAMOMETER ELECTRIC STARTER

It's used to start the roller movement when it's neccessary. Turn the suitable key on console to start the sport motorbike.

  

  

AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT FRONT WHEEL CLAMP

This front wheel clamp have an automatic mouvement you manage by the buttons "Front" and "Rear" of the console. The locking system command is pneumatic. A more simple (not automatic mouvement) clamp is included in the motorcycles basic dynamometers models.
