AIR BOX ONE is the new SOFT-ENGINE production, it is a fan system which air speed is variable with dyno roller(s) speed, up to 300 km/h. It is a device particularly estimated by tuners because it allow to simulate the vehicle's real behaviour on the road. Its main technical features are:
"AIR BOX ONE" fan system is first of all a simulator to the bench of the sovra-pressure in the airbox. This solution was tested for the first time in the contests F1, where the first taken of dynamic air has seen in the Seventeens. To leave from 1999 also the Yamaha introduced systems of aspiration that expect the exploitation of the dynamic sovra-pressure. These aspirations expect, a plenum, said note "Air Box", food from the air that the means go through in velocią. Air-box that, positioned on the trombone of the aspiration, supplies the breathing of the engine. Naturally, more high it the speed of the air results, better it is the breathing of the engine and, obviously, that has an its correspondence in a matter of test to the bench: if in such tests the system of ventilation supplied a speed of the variable air to the to vary some roll, the engine would breathe like on track. Usually, in the course of test to the bench, the system of ventilation supplies an air to speed costing and this is one of the motive for that generally the houses manufacturers (provided of systems of ventilation to variable speed air) declare values of power and couple of summit plus highs of how much pairs on bench. Here therefore that now the Soft-Engine company supplies this system of ventilation for its dynamometers models.
The "Yamaha R6" from prestigious Italian "Team Bevilacqua", tested with "Air Box One"system in Soft-Engine company
For example, the system AIR BOX ONE has been used in some test on a YAMAHA R6 2003 of the prestigious TEAM BEVILACQUA. In these tests was verified that the engine, immersed in avariable-speed air, gave some more reliable results respect those obtained to constant speed air.
"Yamaha R6" horsepowers measured with the variable air speed sistem, the air speed was blocked to fixed values. Dark-fuxia diagram: variable air speed. Look the Wheel HP gain (4.23 HP)!
You can see that, while to the highs regimes, that is to say on the zone of the utmost of power, the result of summit is higher, in a matter of speed air to 300 Km/h that not in a matter of stopped-air. This simulation was possible blocking the fan to the speed air above mentioned and carrying out the inertial test. In a test with system to variable speed air, the real engine behaviour is like the dark-fuxia diagram, that is like the green diagram to the low rpms and like the cyano one to the highs rpms. The gain between air:0 Km/h diagram and air:variable diagram was 4.23 HP!
This graphic shows how the fan follow faithfully the acceleration in 6° gear:
In the test to air it stops it is noted the characteristic descending course had to to the determined aspiration of the engine, that not having fed to sufficiency creates the depression in the box of the filter. In this case the leap of pressure is of about 7 mBar.
